How it works

Are you English speaking and new in the city of Zurich? Do you like to cook? Would you like to meet new people?

You don’t have to be a Masterchef or have an expansive apartment/house. We would love for you to take part in our Cook & Dine gatherings. It is a culinary journey through the city of Zurich and a great way to meet new people all in one evening.

Cost is CHF 25.00 if you provide your kitchen (apartment/house) and CHF 35.00 without.

1. IDEA & PREPARATION

You will cook in teams of 2 and you prepare one dish. We will team you up with a cooking buddy and contact you about 5 days before the gathering with details and info about which dinner course you will be preparing.

2. DINNER PLANNING & GROCERIES

You get in touch with your assigned cooking buddy and start planning. You can go grocery shopping together or organise who brings what to cook the course.

3. COOKING

You meet up with your cooking buddy in the afternoon of the Cook & Dine gathering and start preparing your assigned dinner course. Also don’t forget the table setting.

4. ENTREE 17:30 – 18:30

If you are assigned to prepare an entree 4 other participants will join you to start off the gathering and to enjoy the entree you prepared.

5. MAIN 19:00 – 20:30

If you are assigned to cook a main, you may need to leave the entree a bit early to be ready for your guests. We recommend to cook something you can prepare so when your guests arrive you have time to sit and chat.

6. DESSERT 21:00 – 22:00

In the 3rd apartment you and your cooking buddy will again meet 4 new participants for dessert. Get creative in the kitchen and whip up something delicious.

Who We Are?

Hi! My name is Simone and I work for Anchor Relocation in Zurich.

In my job as a relocation consultant I have the pleasure of meeting people from all over the world and it made me realize that it can be difficult to meet new people in a new place.

So we started thinking of ways to connect expatriates and English speaking people in Zurich. Hence Cook & Dine was born. The basic idea exists in Zurich, however not for our growing English speaking community.

It is very inspiring to enjoy each meal with a different group of people and seeing different locations all in one night. So join in, it is a fun way to get to know new people and exploring Zurich or Zug at the same time!
